1. PT 44 in in Relation to Past Progress Tests

The graph displays the difficulty (in %-correct) for each semester for PTs 33 - 44, as well as the total mean difficulty for each of these Progress Tests.

2. PT 44 - an Overview

2.1 Test Statistics

Mean difficulty:

  • 0,3612 (or 36,18 %) mean Sem 1-11
  • 0,3447 (or  34,47 %) mean Sem 1-10

Cronbach´s alpha:

  • 0,979 correct answers
  • 0,943 test score (correct-false)

2.2 Participation

Number of faculties: 15

Total number of participants: 11 123

- Serious participations:: 9 865 (incl. repeaters and re-labaled semesters) - 88,69%

- Non-serious participations: 1 258 - 11,31%

The plot shows the proportion of serious and non-serious participations.

2.3 Participants per Semester

The participation per semester is shown, split into serious and non-serious test participations. Semester 11 is voluntary participation in the practical year. Students who did not indicate a semester are not considered for the calculation of the comparison groups.

2.4 Distribution of Questions per Subject: What is the Proportion per Organ System and Domain? And what is the distribution between domain and competency level?

2.5 Correct answer on average of subject, organ system and domain per semester

These plots show the level of knowledge per subject, organ system and domain in the different semesters for all cooperation partners.

2.6 %-Correct and Discrimination Index at a Glance

3. PT 44 in Detail

The distribution of questions among subjects, organ systems and domains, as well as the answers to the questions, are shown here in more graphic detail, including a comparative presentation of the shared question set with PT 39.

3.1 Which Organ System, Domain and Subject do the Questions belong to?

In the centre are the subjects, showing how many questions from each subject come from which organ system and domain.

There is one representation each, the pre-clinical, the clinical and the cross-sectional subjects.

3.2 Difficulty for Each Subject and Organ System per Semester

The mean difficulties per semester are shown for each subject and organ system as a solid blue line, including the 95% confidence interval as a light blue area around the mean difficulty. It can be seen in which semesters large increases in knowledge occur and what the development is up to the 10th semester.

The solid red line shows the mean value of the subject or organ system over all semesters.

The grey line shows the average degree of difficulty of the overall examination, so that it can be read which subject, organ system and which domain are rather easy or difficult.

For subjects and organ systems, the mean difficulties per semester (light blue dashed line) and overall (lred dashed line) of the last Progress Tests are shown.

Subjects with few questions in particular may show considerable deviations.

Average data for the last 10 PTs are not yet available for the domain.

3.3 Analysis of the shared question subset PT 39 - PT 44

PT 44 (summer 2021) und der PT 39 (winter 2018/19) share a common question set of 149 questions.

PT 39 took place prior, wheras PT 44 took place amid the Covid-pandemic.

The boxplots show the percentage of correct answers of the common question set per semester and progress test.

Analysis of the shared question subset PT 39 - PT 44

The radar graph shows the differences in the percentages of correct answers between the two tests of the common questions (not of the whole subject). The purple area represents the change in PT 44. The rings mark (from inside to outside) the -5%, 0%, +5%, +10% changes.

This graph is based on data from the cooperation partners whose examination regulations remained the same with regard to the Progress Test and who had participants in both tests.
